 Here is a more recent photo of the completed Rushmore. Most of us focus on the faces, but look closely under Washington- you can see the beginning of the shoulders and collar referenced in the early model. Now look under Lincoln’s beard- see the partial fist? Most people miss this. Luigi was supposed to return to finish it, but with the advent of WWII, Rushmore just wasn’t a priority anymore.
